Super Admins vs. Business Unit Admins

Within Devensoft, there are two types of system Administrators that we refer to as Super Administrators and Business Unit Administrators (or BU). Below, we will break down the Differences.

Let's begin with Super Admins. They have full capability within Devensoft, meaning access to all Targets and Programs, all Administrative Functions, and Full Rights across the platform, including the ability to delete data. There are NO restrictions for Super Admins. This is the comprehensive list of their abilities within the Admin Menu and system-wide:

A Super Admin can delegate some of the responsibility of adding and managing users to a Business Unit Admin. The Business Unit Admin is a great option for large organizations with many users, where the Super Admins may benefit from a helping hand with slightly less configuration access than themselves.

The Business Unit Admin is limited to User Administration within the Admin menu:

They are further limited in that they can only create new users that are assigned to the same Business Unit as them.

For example, I am assigned to the Manufacturing Business Unit of my organization. As a BU admin, I can only add Devensoft Users who are also assigned to Manufacturing. I, as the BU admin,  am also limited to accessing Targets and Programs within Devensoft that are assigned to the Manufacturing Business Unit.

If this is too limiting, take note that any user in Devensoft can be associated with multiple Business Units:

Therefore, if you wish to open up more Targets, Programs, and New Users to a BU Admin, you can add them to additional Business Units. Aside from these limitations, all other permissions for a BU Admin match that of a Super Admin.

To Summarize, a Super Admin can do and see everything within Devensoft and the full Admin Menu.

A Business Unit Admin can do and see everything within their assigned Business Unit(s) and the User Admin Menu.
