How Do I Restrict Pipeline Visibility Using the Business Unit Field?
This article explains what Business Units are, how to create them, and a practical use case.
The Business Unit field is used for reporting and grouping of Targets. From Pipeline management, you can group your Targets, and in some cases when the *Limited Access type is selected within the User Detail page, selecting the Business Unit field means that the user will have access to those Targets within their Business Unit.
Devensoft Administrators can create or edit Business Unit fields. To do this:
- Navigate to the Admin/Dictionaries/Pick Lists menu.
- Click on the Filter button.
- In the Category field, click on the down arrow and scroll to Deal - BusinessUnit.
- Click on the +Create button to add a new choice.
- In the Order field, add a number which represents how it's displayed in the Pick List view and the drop-down picklist that the user will see.
- In the Choice field, enter the name of the Business Unit.
- Press Save.
- The new choice appears in the view.
The use of the Business Units is used for reporting and grouping Targets. From Pipeline management, you can group your Targets. The Business Unit field can also be applied to the *Role access, based on Business Unit.
