Can Existing Drop-Down Menus Field Characteristics Be Changed?

Is it possible to enable a multi-select picklist for any of the existing Devensoft drop-down fields such as the 'Business Unit' field?

Unfortunately, it is not possible to enable multi-select for the existing Devensoft fields. Several fields, including the 'Business Unit' field has user permission/access type logic that is built into this field.
